Jesus said, “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.  Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” (Luke 6:43-45)

Perhaps I am about to ask a rhetorical question but one worth considering. “How can an immoral person make moral decisions as the leader of this country?”

  1. I ask myself the same question everyday.. ” For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of” . May a good heart overcome the evil one.

  2. king David was not always a shining light as to being moral and nether was his son Solomon , Many bibical characters had moral issues and the study of their lives should lead us all to question our own morality and motives as we walk though life. What I can see is the only alternative to our morality or lack of is to walk humbly with a surrendered heart recognizing our frail state and giving our selves over to the only one who never had an issue with morality or sin. Jesus Christ. Everyone has an issue with sin, All have sinned and come short. We live in a fallen world. A 3rd of heavens fallen angels live in this world along with us. Ephesians 6 ; 11-18 Ephesians 4; 17- 21 Defining who is who in this life and what we should be regardless of those who are blind to the will of God. Those who walk in the Light of Christ at some point come to the conclusion that we cannot put any confidence in the flesh. Including those who are in high level government positions. We are called to pray for them. Lord help them to make the right decisions .

    • Guy, I think that King David was moral enough to confess his sin before God for his sexual transgression. And it seems that Ecclesiastes expressed Solomon’s repentance. All is vanity. But I suppose that leaders are not always godly even as the emperors of ancient times. And I suspect that religious people can expect persecution even as it comes from the mouths of of ‘would be leaders’. But then again we don’t have emperors. The question for me and others is this, ‘Should we obey Christ or the leader.” see Acts 5 WE OBEY GOD NOT HUMANS. I believe that Christians need to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Proverbs 31: 8-9 “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
